I find so much poor work at PolitiFact that I end up rarely praising the good work that occasionally turns up. The PolitiFact assessment of the Obama administration's claims regarding job creation seems like good work on its face, though I gave it a quicker read than usual since the claim is so obviously difficult to substantiate. The reporting generally follows the right path and reaches what I take to be the right conclusion. The claim isn't worth much, and presenting it as though it was worth something is ultimately misleading.
Writer/researcher Angie Drobnic Holan and editor Bill Adair both receive B's.

Still no word from either Pulitzer or PolitiFact as to which stories helped earn the coveted award for 2008.
