Here's to the hornets losing.

No respite in Pakistan

Suicide bombers have kept up their activity in northern Pakistan, unfortunately.
HANGU: The death toll of Hangu suicide attack is said to have risen to seven including six police officials and one passer-by.

It was reported that a car was seen near the gate of Police Training College, Hangu; at that moment, the routine police parade was underway. The white car driver thought to be waiting for the parade to be over, but could not stay back for long and struck his car to gate of the college.

It would take some imagination to make the case.

Terror continues in Pakistan with another suicide blast

ISLAMABAD: The deaths of 16 people in a suicide attack near lawyers convention site at Islamabad Kutchehry have been confirmed on Wednesday. Over 50 people are injured.

After the suicide attack, 67 people were brought to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, among them 13 were confirmed to have died.

The News printed a number of the names of the victims, many of whom were apparently prominent lawyers (I'm guessing, based on the fact that the bombing took place at a convention for lawyers) or politicians.

As terrible as this is for the victims, it will continue to polarize moderate Muslims against their extremist counterparts. If that results in the marginalization of extremist Islam, then that's a good thing.

More suicide attacks in Pakistan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN/SWAT: Over 47 people including 12 security men and 13 cops were killed and over 100 others were wounded in two separate suicide attacks in Swat and Dera Ismail Khan on Sunday, the media reports said.

A suicide bomber killed at least 26 people including six policemen and wounded over 50 more Sunday at a police recruitment centre in northwest Pakistan in the weekend's third major bomb attack, police said.

This is a global war, and there's no ducking out of it.

The extremists don't intend to stop until their version of Islam dominates the globe along with whatever else there is to dominate.

Suicide bomber attack in Pakistan

Things are heating up in Pakistan, where President Pervez Musharraf has finally begun some decisive movements against the radical Islamists in that country.

SWAT: At least 12 security men were killed and over 20 wounded in suicide attack over a security forces convoy in Swat on Sunday.

President Musharraf is in a tight spot. There is plenty of sympathy for radical Islam in Pakistan, and Musharraf has been regularly targeted for assassination.

Here's to safety and success for the Pakistani military as they begin to try to clean out a gangrenous portion of Pakistan.
