Baghdad, Jan 17, (VOI) – The Iraqi ministries of defense and interior will receive 650 U.S. Humvee vehicles as part of efforts to build up the capability of the Iraqi army, the Defense Ministry said on Thursday.Many seem to overlook the importance of Iraq as a trade partner with the United States. Antiwar rhetoric paints the war as an endless expense that inevitably turns into financial loss. While victory in the war offers no guarantees by itself, the benefits of trade (including arms) and oil supply offer the potential of a strong economic benefit. And that's ignoring the invaluable prospect of a strong Middle Eastern ally with a predisposition to favor representative government and the continued defeat of the aims of al Qaeda.
