What he said: Robert Samuelson (Updated: SNL concurs)

The takeaway quotation:
The disconnect between what President Barack Obama says and what he's doing is so glaring that most people could not abide it. The president, his advisers and allies have no trouble. But reconciling blatantly contradictory objectives requires them to engage in willful self-deception, public dishonesty, or both.
Samuelson has it exactly right. Selling Obamacare as the solution to federal deficit problems while increasing federal costs through Obamacare constitutes an obvious contradiction. Yet the president and the Democrats in Congress try to ram legislation through despite the contradiction and the objection of the people.

Update:

While I do not see the mainstream media putting much emphasis on the Obama contradiction, it seems that Saturday Night Live has noticed.

When a president's policy turns into a comedy line, it's a PR problem to say the least.
