NEW YORK (Associated Press) - Aircraft makers Boeing Co. and Textron Inc. will jointly bid on an Army contract likely worth billions of dollars to build light armored vehicles for U.S. soldiers in Iraq.This adds another significant player to the long list of companies hunting JLTV contracts.The agreement announced late Monday will join a St. Louis-based unit of Boeing with a New Orleans-based unit of Textron to compete for the first phase of the contract, which requires building a demonstration vehicle that the Pentagon can test.
