Focus group evaluation of Clinton "3 a.m." ad

Hat tip to Hot Air, where the Slate V video showing realtime reactions is called comedy. I'm giving away the punchline. Click on the image to obtain a transfer to Hot Air so you can watch the video.

The Clinton ad surely aimed to appeal to Democrat voters, particularly undecided voters. Thus, I wonder about the demographics of the undecided voters for the above graph. Were they undecided Democrats? Or were they undecided Independent voters?

If the blue line represents undecided Democrats then it suggests that Clinton miscalculated in running the ad, but the degree of miscalculation depends on whom the viewers wanted to see answering the phone instead of Sen. Clinton. Surely the precipitous drop taken by the red line (Obama supporters) indicates that those viewers would prefer to see Sen. Obama on the phone. The Independents might have either Obama or John McCain on the phone (is it possible some would like to see Ralph Nader on the hotline?)

I'd like to see the graphs for the same focus groups with Michelle Obama answering the phone.

"Barack's not here right now. May I help you?"

Just for fun.
