Power Outage? (Updated)

Fox News radio just reported that Samanta Power has resigned from the Obama campaign after fallout from her comments about Sen. Clinton being a "monster."

The good folks at Power Line blog will no doubt welcome the news, though it isn't likely to draw them onto the Obama bandwagon.

Power seems cut from the same mold as Obama in some ways. She figures to have an impressive intellect, but put her in front of the media to talk issues and the foot goes in the mouth. At least Bush could fall back on a history of malapropism. Eloquent types are allowed less leeway.

Update:
Rush Limbaugh's guest host was talking about an apology for Samantha Powers' remarks without mentioning the resignation, so I thought I might have suffered an auditory malfunction while listening to the news.

Not so much:
CHICAGO (Reuters) - An aide to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, Samantha Power, stepped down from the campaign on Friday amid uproar over a comment she made to a British newspaper referring to Democratic rival Hillary Clinton as a "monster."
