Judge's ruling leaves open prosecution of journalists for sharing secrets

Captain's Quarters comments on the recent ruling of Judge T. S. Ellis in the case involving the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, or AIPAC.

Judge Ellis denied a motion by the defense to dismiss based on the fact that the defendants were not privileged to know the secret information they transferred to others.

The potential application to journalists who transmit sensitive state secrets seems obvious.
