GOODBYE air pollution and smoky chimneys, hello brighter days. That's been the trend in Europe for the past three decades - but unfortunately cleaning up the skies has allowed more of the sun's rays to pierce the atmosphere, contributing to at least half the warming that has occurred.I have wondered about the role of air pollution in terms of global warming, even to the point of wondering whether spikes in volcanic activity play a role in cooling trends. The above story appears to offer at least some confirmation of a prominent role.

Maybe all we need to do in order to defeat global warming is disband the EPA.
