Cleaner air, warmer planet?

GOODBYE air pollution and smoky chimneys, hello brighter days. That's been the trend in Europe for the past three decades - but unfortunately cleaning up the skies has allowed more of the sun's rays to pierce the atmosphere, contributing to at least half the warming that has occurred.

I have wondered about the role of air pollution in terms of global warming, even to the point of wondering whether spikes in volcanic activity play a role in cooling trends. The above story appears to offer at least some confirmation of a prominent role.

Maybe all we need to do in order to defeat global warming is disband the EPA.
