David Carr of the Gray Lady
takes on Fox News' treatment of those who would report on its reporting. I was trying to take Carr seriously until I reached the following paragraph:
Fox News found a huge runway and enormous success by setting aside the conventions of bloodless objectivity, but along the way, it altered the rules of engagement between reporters and the media organizations they cover.
Let me fix that for you, Mr. Carr:
Fox News found a huge runway and enormous success by setting aside the pretentions of bloodless objectivity, but along the way, it altered the rules of engagement between reporters and the media organizations they cover.
After that correction the piece was readable. But it seemed like Carr could have made his point plainer or used more clearly illustrative examples. Or both.
