Insidedefense.com: Army looks to boost funding for JLTV competition

ARMY SEEKING OMNIBUS FUNDS TO ENSURE THREE JLTV CONTRACTS

The Pentagon plans to seek permission from Congress to boost funding for the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle program in order to allow the Army and Marine Corps to expand the field of competitors for the next-generation truck by awarding three technology development contracts this summer.
As I write, the full story is only available by subscription. On the other hand, there probably isn't a whole bunch of detail that goes with the story.

If approved, the move should stimulate the competition as hoped. Perhaps the request stemmed from very promising results from the preliminary results, which would also serve as a hopeful sign.
